Checker Cab Mfg. Corporation (CCM) AND Ben-Hur Manufacturing Thrust Washers. We recently obtained a very limited quantity of these Ben-Hur made washers. Identical to the CCM ones, but packaged differently. If you need a washer for your trailer, either work. But if you are a collector of NOS parts/packaging then you can select either until supplies run out.
These washers fit between the landing fork and the quadrant. They are often missing and without one your landing wheel has extra slop. Besides increasing the chance for damage this looseness in the assembly prevents the fork from being caught in your landing fork hook on the drawbar. Replace your worn or missing washer with the correct NOS part. We looked, no commercially available washer today is exactly to specification. Some are functional, but nothing is exactly the same thickness and same outside diameter. Although the envelope specifies “Bronze or Steel” every one that we checked has been magnetic. So assume you are getting a steel washer. We have opened up one of these for photographs. You will be receiving a sealed washer and we cannot guarantee that it will be completely rust free as our example shows, there is some light frosting. Sold individually.
